Advanced Bookkeeper - TNC/BK 24-05

We work with the best team and the best software being a 100% Xero and Dext accountancy practice.
Our customers are Self Employed, Micro Businesses or SMEs with turnovers ranging from a few thousand to a few million.
We aim high, our TNC recipes and quality checks delivered by a whole team in unison wanting our accounts and tax returns to be proactive & excellent but at the same time delivering the best personal customer experience too. We go out of our way to make each and every customer feel special at every touch point from the very first ‘thank you’ gif to remembering their birthdays.
We ask our customers, staff, suppliers and community to recommend us, they are our greatest advocates & good news travels fast. We have grown by over 25% every year for the last 10 years and have opened our second office, we plan to open more.

What you will be doing
- Delivering excellence - ensuring every aspect of their bookkeeping, accounting and compliance is delivered to the TNC practice standards.
- Keeping customers happy - Looking after your allocated clients, regular calls & contact points to help resolve the day-to-day transactions.
- Bank Reconciliations – along with the standard bank accounts you will proficient in reconciling Stripe, GoCardless, Paypal, I-Zettle and other payment methods
- Sales and Purchase Ledgers – maintaining clean ledgers, statements checking on a monthly basis
- Control Accounts – reconciling customer receipts to sales via the use of control accounts.
- VAT Returns Preparation – a clear understanding of processing transactions for VAT returns including Import VAT, PVA, Margin Relief and preparing the VAT return to a finished state prior to final quality checks
- Prepayments and Accruals – recognising prepaid or missing costs within the profit and loss report and processing according to TNC recipes
- Loan/Hire Purchase Agreements – setting up loans and interest costs according to TNC recipes
- Fixed Assets – adding to and maintaining all aspects of the fixed asset register within Xero.
- Balance Sheet/Profit and Loss Reviews – to review your work to a finished level ready for your colleagues including wages payable and coding reviews
- KPI Results driven – Your reports are our KPI’s, making sure our services are delivered according to the TNC production schedule.
What we are looking for
- Likely to be AAT or Bookkeeping qualified or part qualified and aiming for completion
- Having 4 years of experience in bookkeeping role
- Have a great client facing personality, nothing is too much trouble, take time to get to know and have a laugh with your clients. We are here to help and we are not boring, dull, grey accountants
- MUST be Xero Certified and used to connecting banks, payments, importing and integrations with the Xero ecosystem.
- Be a decision maker making reasonable choices to deliver results without putting the client at risk as set out in our TNC practice standards.
- Hardworking & reliable for your team. This role is at the background of what we do, you colleagues will rely on you to deliver high quality bookkeeping in time for accounts, management accounts and VAT returns

- Flexibility to choose what your working week looks like, min 3 days per week up to full time. We need to know in advance and do need you in the office most days but everyone has a WFH day and the rest you can choose a work mix of Cirencester, Highworth and vary the hours to suit your family & home commitments

- 28 days paid holiday (FTE), 5 days carry policy and unlimited holiday if you need a bit of extra time off
- £25,000-£30,000 (FTE Rate) depending on experience and responsibility – we have a wide range of customers and can find a portfolio of clients that could support a variety of experience and skill sets.
