Service Lead -1001 Day Pregnancy and Early Parenthood - ABL 611
Gloucestershire (there may be a need to travel within the South West and nationally)
Are you an experienced Professional in Health and Wellbeing focused on Pregnancy and Early part of a child years? Then this exciting leadership role is for you.
ABL Health, commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council, is launching a new Healthy Lifestyle service in Gloucestershire. This transformative service seeks to work collaboratively with communities to transform the lives of the local population. The service will deliver a 1001 days programme, supporting families with healthy lifestyles through pregnancy to child’s second birthday and beyond. Alongside this, the service will be working with residents to help them lose weight, stop smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, get more active and improve their wellbeing – all embedded in sustainable behaviour change.
This is a senior role, where the post holder will have a real influence on the clinical and operational excellence of the 1001 day service. The post holder will take a pro-active lead in building relationships, partnerships and alliances in the Local Maternity and Neonatal System, working with women and birthing people, families, commissioners and healthcare staff to improve healthy lifestyle support during pregnancy and early parenthood. The role will act as a topic expert, developing service curriculums, generating referrals into the service and supporting delivery staff in their work with pregnant and new parents.
The post holder must have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in public health and/or maternity or post-natal services.
Skills and Competencies Required:
- Be an experienced health or early years practitioner with a knowledge and passion for maternal and infant health.
- Leadership skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders and systems.
- Experience of co-producing and evolving and impactful services
- Positive and proactive outlook with the ability to motivate, engage and support others to achieve the highest standards and outcomes.
- Adept in communication; a strong communicator who adapts the message to fit the needs of the audience including clients, staff, and volunteers at all levels
- Build strong relationships, foster trust and co-operation among colleagues, stakeholders throughout community settings
- Quality driven; you naturally seek high standards and actively seek to improve them.
- Value and remain open to new ideas and perspectives.
