Trainee Teacher of Functional Skills - TTFS

Gloucester

Bridge Training Ltd is a small independent training provider based in the centre of Gloucester delivering accredited vocational qualifications alongside Maths and English to students aged between 14-19. We know that, due to a variety of personal barriers, mainstream schools and colleges can be daunting for some young people to thrive in, so at Bridge Training we do things a little different. Since 1989 we’ve been creating an alternative educational path for young people in Gloucestershire, helping and supporting them achieve their next steps in life. We deliver a range of vocational qualifications alongside Maths and English in an intimate, flexible and learner centred environment. We are committed to delivering quality learning opportunities to small classes, ensuring that Teachers can differentiate the learning on offer.

We are looking for an inspirational Teacher who can deliver Functional Skills from Entry 2 to Level 2. You will be innovative in your approach and someone who can empower students to see the importance of learning as a foundation to a successful journey in life. Our classes are small, with a maximum of 14 students at any one time and supported by a Learning Support Worker.

Central to our ethos is knowing the student and building professional, nurturing, and positive relationships to motivate learning.

Our teachers are part of the decision-making process that drives Bridge Training forward to provide outcomes for our students, we welcome input in developing both the academic, vocational and opportunities for our extra-curricular offer (Enrichment).

If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification it will become a mandatory requirement for this post and must be achieved within 18 months. A Bridge Training Ltd mentoring programme is in place to help you achieve this.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, therefore Bridge Training follow a Safer Recruitment Policy and process, and the post will require an enhanced DBS.
