Experienced AutoCAD Technician
Cheltenham
We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Technician to further strengthen our growing Civil and Structural Engineering team at our Cheltenham office due to our increasing workload. Davidson Walsh provides Civil and Structural Engineering expertise to a wide range of projects with design innovation and attention to detail at its heart. We provide the most optimum solutions to ensure that the global design team and our professional colleagues deliver only the most efficient and sustainable design solutions. The team that you will be joining is highly experienced in all aspects of Civil and Structural Engineering, which will provide the perfect platform to allow you to share your expertise and ideas and in turn develop your own knowledge, skills and professional career. The position would suit a driven, enthusiastic, intelligent, confident & ambitious computer literate person who has a good teamworking and collaborative approach to work.
Some of the fields we work in include Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, Education,
Highways, Infrastructure, Bridges, Drainage, Energy and Listed Buildings.
What we need from you
- Strong AutoCAD skills with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Revit would be a great asset.
- Able to work efficiently using your own initiative, with good decision-making & problem-solving
- skills.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of project documentation and adhere to our standards and procedures.
- Staying up to date with the latest software updates and industry best practices to enable you to assist in the development of our systems and protocols.
- Ability to estimate time required to prepare and complete drawings and to work to agreed deadlines.
- The post would suit someone who has worked in similar role for a number of years, who can produce AutoCAD drawings with little supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within the team as well as collaborate with professional colleagues including Architects, Planning consultants etc; to coordinate designs, as well as hold discussions with clients where required.
- Follow an evidence-based approach to design and show good working procedures by referring to relevant design codes and technical documentation.
- Attend site meetings, carry out inspections and dimensional surveys when necessary, adhering to Health & Safety Guidelines.
- Uphold and promote the positive reputation of the company through attendance at networking events.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) and Project related administration tasks as required.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
Good to have
- Experience with Revit, Civil 3D, Tekla Structural Designer
- A qualification in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering course.
- Membership to ICE or IStructE

Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 per annum – depending on experience
