Senior Management Accountant
Quedgeley, Gloucester

Join us as an Account Manager at Virgate, where you'll play a crucial role in enhancing client satisfaction by offering insightful advice on their performance and industry benchmarks. Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Regularly engage with clients through various channels such as phone calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings to discuss management account reports promptly after the period ends.
- Query Resolution: Responsibly manage client inboxes to ensure timely responses to all inquiries, either directly or by coordinating with the appropriate Virgate team.
- Ownership and Accountability: Take ownership of your client portfolio and ensure the accurate and timely delivery of accounting reports. Collaborate with internal teams to streamline the period-end process.
- Expert Guidance: Leverage your expertise to offer guidance to internal teams, providing solutions to challenges and exploring opportunities to add value.
- Task Management: Oversee all tasks necessary for accurate period-end reporting, including payroll, intercompany reconciliations, and asset management.
- VAT Compliance: Prepare quarterly, monthly, and annual VAT returns, obtaining necessary approvals and coordinating payment plans with clients and HMRC.
- Continuous Improvement: Uphold Virgate's values, contribute to process enhancements, and serve as a mentor for team members aspiring to advance within the company.
Requirements:
- Strong Communication Skills: Capable of effectively communicating with clients and internal stakeholders, facilitating smooth collaboration and understanding.
- Proven Account Management Experience: Demonstrated track record in account management or a related role, ideally within the financial or professional services sector.
- Proficiency in Financial Software: Skilled in using financial software such as Xero, with a solid understanding of HMRC procedures to ensure compliance.
- Detail-Oriented and Proactive: Possess a keen eye for detail coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
- Collaborative Team Player: Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment by working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
Preferable Skills:
- Minimum 3 Years' Management Accounting Experience: Seasoned in management accounting with a comprehensive understanding of financial principles and reporting standards.
- Effective Time Management: Proven ability to manage time efficiently, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Positive Can-Do Attitude: Approach work with a positive mindset, displaying enthusiasm, resilience, and a willingness to take on challenges.
- Organized and Methodical: Highly organized with a methodical approach to task management, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Adaptability and Quick Learning: Able to adapt to changing priorities and learn new processes swiftly, demonstrating flexibility and agility in problem-solving and decision-making.
