Site & Grounds Assistant

Gloucester

JOB PURPOSE:

The site team are responsible for ensuring the buildings and grounds of the site are kept well maintained, tidy and secure. To share the responsibility for the well-being and education of students.

Main duties & responsibilities

• Work on tasks within the school site team to ensure that the required facilities are available for the benefit of students, staff and other site users
• Ensure all building interiors are kept well maintained, fit for purpose and secure, to best value principles
• Unlock and lock the school buildings as required, ensuring that any irregularities are reported, investigated and appropriate action taken
• Maintain good working relationships with all school staff, ensuring that maintenance issues raised by staff are resolved quickly and the corrective action undertaken is communicated back to the person who initiated the request
• Ensure that furniture required by staff is set out on time and to the required standards (e.g. chairs for assemblies)
• Ensure manual handling tasks for the school are undertaken as required including distribution of parcels and other goods
• Work to Health and Safety standards at all times including: use of hand and power tools, working at height, electrical safety, hot work etc.
• Work with others on energy efficiency improvements and measures to reduce the school’s energy utilisation

Salary: £27,207 pa to £28,075 pa

Hours Per Week: 41.25
