Converting Machine Operator

The Company
Cotek Papers manufacture Silicone release materials; a process that involves the coating, converting & packing of film, paper & metal materials. 50% of which is exported.

Draycott, Moreton-In-Marsh, Glos. GL56 9JU
The Role
The Converting Machine Operator role is responsible for the safe operation of production equipment to deliver customer requirements through completion of the production plan, adhering to quality standards and maximising cost effectiveness, optimal running and equipment efficiency. You will be expected to carry out maintenance such as Cleaning and inspection activities and record any issues/problems. A converting Machine Operator should master the operation of a series of machines in order to provide factory resilience.
We are looking for a number of Converting Machine Operators to increase capacity & prepare for the arrival of new machinery.
8-hour day shift (40 hours paid) – 7am to 4pm, (with possibility of Rotating ‘12’-hour shift (41 hours paid)–9.30am Monday to 3.30am Friday - (33% shift allowance)
Key Responsibilities
- Set up machines (Knifes, rolls calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed & tension) during operation
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Check product output to spot any machine or material related mistakes or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products, plus correctly labelling & packing products
- Able to maintain a clean & tidy work environment.
- Contribute to the Continuous Improvement of products & processes
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as a machine operator
- Working knowledge of high-speed rotary machinery
- Understanding of production procedures
- Ability to read product specifications & machine instructions
- Proficient in Reading, Writing and Maths, coupled with inputting of data & transactions in the company computer systems
- Able to work well in a team, supporting your colleagues where needed.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)

Salary: Starting Pay currently is £12.03/hour
