Administrator - 6 month contract - Part or Full Time

Cheltenham

Are you a top-flight administrator, looking for a passport to your new career?

Want to join a family-run travel business with a great culture?

We need a brilliant administrator on a six-month to permanent contract, for between 30 hours per week and full time.

Compass Holidays is a tour operator planning and booking walking, cycling and activity holidays across the UK. We've been established since 1989, and we have a a loyal customer base that trusts us with their UK trips. We're looking for an administrator to handle the booking process, including:

Calls & emails

We work hard but also love to laugh, and we’re motivated by doing the job right and keeping our clients happy. What we like and respect is someone who is not afraid to get stuck in, is honest, fun-loving and would describe themselves as a ‘doer’. While there are defined roles, we like to maintain a relatively flat structure and encourage our team members to step outside their job description to take on things that they enjoy or will help them in developing themselves and their skills in areas that they find interesting. It therefore means the role is most suited to someone who is self-motivated and likes the idea of team success.

Ultimately, we like to find the best person rather than the best skillset, so as long as you can learn, get stuck in and bring some enthusiasm with you, we’ll consider you for the role. That said, there are a few skills that will make you more suited to the role:

Office hours: typically 9am – 5:30pm with one hour for lunch, but we're fairly relaxed as long as key times are covered, and this will vary for part-time work.

Working hours: we will consider part time or full time, but the candidate must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week spread over four or five days.

Other important information: during periods where demand is high, the candidate may have to work additional hours, although this isn't common.

Location: the role is undeniably easier when office-based, because you can draw on the experience of the team. Some home working may be permitted but need to be able to attend our office in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on a weekly basis.

Term: the role is currently a temporary six-month term, with the potential to become permanent.

Experience: our priority is a great person that will suit our culture within a small team. No travel or tour operator experience is necessary, but it helps if you have experience working with a multi-stage process, that may require adaptation or innovation.

Salary: £24,000 per annum (pro rata for part time)
