Part Time Receptionist
Cheltenham
Job description
A Bonus of £150 will paid after 3 months service and a further £150 after 6 months service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part Time Receptionist to join our friendly team. Based at the stunning 5* Ellenborough Park Hotel, and working as an integral part of the Front Office team.
We are looking for a confident communicator with a passion for customer service and exceeding guest expectations.
Candidates must be well presented, self-motivated, organised, a good team player and have a keen eye for details. A Hotel Reception background is desirable and candidates must be confident with computers, although full training on our systems will be given.
The shift pattern consists of Early Shifts (7am - 3pm) or Late Shifts (3pm - 11pm) and includes weekends so flexibility is essential as you will be required to work all variations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To welcome all guests on their arrival and assist them in a courteous, helpful manner with registration and when checking out of the hotel.
- To assist guests throughout their stay in a friendly and professional manner, informing the Duty Manager of any complaints.
- To be fully aware of the hotel cash handling and credit procedures and to report any discrepancies to your Supervisor/ Manager or in their absence the Duty Manager immediately.
- To operate the hotel switchboard, answering it to the company standard, ensuring that all messages are correctly handled and processed to guests’ rooms immediately.
- To be constantly aware of the hotels availability in order to maximise all opportunities to sell rooms at the best possible rate.
- To assist with luggage, providing information and booking services as required.
- To take a reservation according to company standards during periods when the Reservations Office is unmanned or busy, ensuring all necessary information is completed and recorded accurately.
- To be fully aware of hotel activities and facilities.
- To upsell all facilities within the hotel to guests, e.g. room service, bar etc.
- To liaise closely with Housekeeping and Reservations/Sales Office, advising them of information such as departures, arrivals, stay-ons and any special requests.
- To ensure the security of guest valuables, departmental keys and floats. This to include ensuring company security procedures are strictly adhered to at all times.
- To be knowledgeable of all hotel rates and terms of business.

- Previous customer service experience in a customer facing role
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, whilst maintaining a positive and ‘can do’ attitude
- Guest focused with a genuine passion for delivering sensational service
- Confident Communicator
- Well presented, self-motivated and good team player
