Job Description: Early Outcomes Fund Project Family Co-ordinator (Gloucester)

Employer  Home-Start Stroud District and Quedgeley

Hours of work 26 flexible working hours (one year contract in the first instance)

Supervised by Senior Co-ordinator

Responsible to  Scheme Manager

Purposes of the job

To maintain high standards of practice in supporting families.
To ensure equality of opportunity, fairness and diversity in all aspects of the scheme’s work.
To provide one to one support to families within the home until volunteers are introduced.
Implement good child protection practice in all areas of work
To contribute to the effective day to day operation of the scheme in accordance with the Home-Start Memorandum & Articles of Association, Home-Start, Standards & Methods of Practice, Home-Start Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards.
Recruit, train and supervise volunteers.

Main Responsibilities

Support for families

Receiving referrals into the Early Outcomes Fund Project in Gloucester and assessing needs of families.
Support families to create a more positive learning environment.
Ensuring support to families is reviewed at regular intervals and at the end of Home-Start support, in line with current Home-Start guidance
To undertake designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.

Managing Volunteers

Helping to recruit volunteers.
Matching and introducing volunteers to families.
Providing support, supervision for volunteers.

School Readiness

Identify family needs and initially provide one to one support in the home.
Monitor and record outcomes and report as necessary.
Provide the Home Start link with other professionals working on the project ensuring good working practice.
Collate constructive feedback on the project to enable further planning as appropriate.

Supporting the work of the scheme

Undertaking work as delegated by the Senior Coordinator to support the strategic management, development and future funding of the scheme into Gloucester.
Supporting the implementation and review of all Home-Start policies and procedures.
Complying with the scheme’s administration, monitoring and financial systems.

Working in Partnership

Ensuring appropriate liaison with referrers and other professionals
Networking appropriately within the community.

The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.

Although based at the main office in Stonehouse GL10, the majority of the work with families and recruiting volunteers will be in Gloucester.
