LGV Driving/Transport Instructor

C&G Services (Europe) Ltd has an opportunity available for an LGV Driving/Transport Instructor to join their training team based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Joining them on a full time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits package depending on experience.

We deliver training to over 10000 candidates a year in, Lifting Operations, Health & Safety, Construction and Plant Machinery, Transport, Civil Engineering disciplines to all industry sectors. We design and deliver high-quality bespoke training courses and development programmes.

About the LGV Driving/Transport Instructor role:

We are looking to recruit for the full-time position of LGV Driving/Transport Instructor.

Key responsibilities as their LGV Driving/Transport Instructor:

• Deliver, facilitate and teach commercial vehicle driver training to DVSA driving test standard and in keeping with high standards.

• Ensure all training elements are completed in accordance with the awarding bodies’ requirements and programme guidelines and within agreed timescales.

• Ensure that all learners are encouraged and supported to achieve their goals in a firm, fair and friendly manner.

• Conduct initial assessments on potential learners.

• Setting and monitoring learner targets and providing appropriate support where required.

• Complete necessary documentation as identified by our clients and relevant awarding bodies, ensuring that all records are maintained and recorded in an accurate and legible manner in the approved format.

• Responsible for ensuring safe working practices.

• Maintain discipline of learners, whilst ensuring safe practices at all times.

• Ensure vehicles and equipment are kept in a safe, clean and presentable condition.

• Attend meetings and training sessions to develop relevant knowledge and skills in order to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.

• Undertake any other reasonable requests made by senior management.

Skills we are looking for in the LGV Driving/Transport Instructor role:

Essential;

• LGV Class C licence / Class C+E licence, Class C1, C1 + E and B+E licences.

• Occupational and administration experience.

• Training / coaching experience with instructor/teacher qualification.

• Background in training within the transport/logistics areas.

• Experience of reviewing other people’s performance and development.

• Previous experience of delivering driver CPC training.

Desirable;

• DVSA qualified instructor car or truck.

• PTTLS qualification or equivalent.

• Ability to deliver multiple relevant courses such as Forklift, manual handling, First Aid etc.

• Health & Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH.

• First Aid qualification.
