About the opportunity
Can you only spare an hour or two every couple of months? Are you amazing at shaking a bucket and serving tea? Do you have a special talent for parking cars or do you just love stewarding concerts?
About The Door
Founded in 1991 by a local group of Christians, The Door has been at the heart of the Stroud district for over 25 years.
Our mission is to bring hope into the lives of young people and their families by unlocking potential and opening opportunity so that their past does not define their future. Creating a society where every young person’s future is determined by their potential not their past.
We do this through providing safe spaces to young people ages 8-25 and their families with youth clubs, mentoring, group support and much more.
The Door team is made up of 25 staff (mostly part time) and over 50 dedicated volunteers who's work was recognised in 2017 with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (MBE eqv)
Our values are taken from the Bible: Galatians 5:22, 'The Fruits Of The Spirit'
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. There is no law against these things!
What are they looking for?
The Door is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our amazing team of volunteer fundraisers. Whether it's an hour on a Saturday morning shaking a bucket or a Friday Night stewarding a concert. We are always on the lookout for friendly people looking to give something back to their community but can only spare an hour or two to do so.
Practical Considerations
This would mean being added to our monthly email newsletter containing volunteering opportunities.
All opportunities have different considerations and may not be appropriate for all ages and abilities although we do our best to accommodate everyone.
Some roles may require a DBS check to be completed.
We are still accepting applications for these roles during lockdown.
