Strategic Account Manager

England UK

Expected Travel:  Home worker with adhoc travel to Ageas UK and partner offices
Work Level: 4

Working closely with the Director of Distribution and Strategic Portfolio Manager,  the Strategic Account Manager will play a key role in the delivery of the Strategic Account Plans for a designated number of Key Personal Lines Brokers.  The Strategic Account Manager will have ownership for the delivery of agreed GWP and COR targets as well as identifying and delivering new business opportunities with existing and new Brokers.

As Strategic Account Manager, your market, product and segment specific knowledge will enable you to act as a highly visible and credible representative of Ageas Distribution within this channel, both internally and externally.

Please note: The role of Strategic Account Manager will predominantly be based at home with the support of necessary equipment, however there will travel to Ageas and Broker sites on a regular basis

Main Responsibilities as Strategic Account Manager:

·       To deliver and own budgeted GWP and COR targets in line with Ageas UK Strategy across designated Broker accounts.
·       Develop segment specific trading expertise and develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities within the Broker market·
·       Attain a broad knowledge of all other Personal Lines trading segments and channels, including an appreciation of direct.
·       Develop and own strategic business plans for each assigned Broker. Provide in depth insight into their strategic goals and objectives to ensure we extract the maximum possible value from the relationship.
·       Attain technical and product knowledge, to a sufficient level that coupled with the jobholder’s understanding of appetite, strategy, target areas and key metrics enables them to be a highly effective first filter of new opportunities.
·       Promote and engage with continual learning to differentiate the Ageas Distribution Team from the rest of the market; become technical experts in our marketBuild and maintain strong internal networks across the key business functions - The strength of these relationships will be key to our agility to react to market opportunity and build on our “go to insurer “reputation

Skills and experience you need as Strategic Account Manager:

·        Proven Capability in an Account Management role, ideally within a business development or commercially focused role.
·        Personal Lines insurance experience/expertise with a clear understanding of the Distribution channel.
·        Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing account strategies and delivering new business opportunities to live.
·        Proven delivery of core business targets and strategic objectives.
·        Detailed technical understanding and commercial awareness of the insurance market and regulatory framework.
·        Experience of collaborating with other business functions to implement complex IT projects
The ability to lead, shape and influence negotiations with senior internal/external stakeholders.
·        Collaborative approach to solving problems ensuring all perspectives are considered.
·        Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
·        Proficient in Data Analytics.

Salary: £44,000-£50,000pa depending on experience
