Position Overview:
As an Account Manager, you will act as the key liaison between Virgate and our external clients. You’ll provide essential financial insights, comparing client performance against industry benchmarks, and delivering accurate and timely Management Account reports. You’ll take full ownership of a diverse client portfolio, ensuring all financial reports are completed smoothly and that clients receive top-tier
support.
This role offers a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both financial analysis and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, communicating regularly via phone, email, video calls (Teams), and face-to-face meetings.
- Review and analyze each client’s bookkeeping status on a weekly basis, addressing any discrepancies or issues proactively.
- Manage the full period-end closure process to ensure smooth delivery of accounting reports within ten working days of period end.
- Liaise with the internal reporting team to guarantee reports are tailored to each client’s specific needs.
- Provide expert advice to clients based on financial performance and industry benchmarks.
- Ensure all tasks are accurately tracked and completed using the task management system, maintaining up-to-date client notes and supplier information.
- Support colleagues when needed, ensuring clients continue to receive excellent service, even when team members are out of the office.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: QBE / Part-Qualified ACCA / Part-Qualified CIMA / AAT Level 4 or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in Management Accounting, with client-facing experience being a plus.
- Skills:
o Proficiency in Excel is essential.
o Knowledge of Xero is desirable but not required.
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Ability to prioritize and manage your workload efficiently, especially under tight deadlines.
o Strong problem-solving abilities and a positive, can-do attitude.
o Organized, methodical, and adaptable, with a willingness to learn.
