Debt Recovery Officer - 8790

About The Team & Role

Come and join our Adult Social Care Debt Recovery team. With 2 positions available, your role within the debt recovery team will be to work closely with other ASC Debt Recovery Officers based across the County, the Care Finance Admin Team and the Financial Assessment & Benefits Team to reduce the levels of outstanding debt and to prevent new debts arising.

The main focus of this role is to build strong and lasting relationships with the customer base, including educating and supporting customers to manage their payment options, always finding appropriate resolutions to their payment queries or issues. You will work closely with Team Managers and Budget Holders, keeping them fully briefed on the status of debts related to the service areas they support/are responsible for.

This will include liaising with others in order to resolve any outstanding issues which are a barrier to the debt being repaid.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual with good communication across all levels both internal and external to the organisation.    As a member of our team you will need to be a self-motivated and flexible individual who learns quickly and takes responsibility for your own development. With the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise daily caseload and schedule tasks for completion as appropriate to achieve deadlines.

An understanding of the adult Social Care financial assessment and charging systems would be advantageous along with a sound understanding of bad and doubtful debt provisioning procedures and the impact of this activity on the accounts.. You must be computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system.
