About the team

Gloucestershire Pension Fund is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and is administered by Gloucestershire County Council. The Fund has c.200 participating employers and over c.65,000 active, deferred and pensioner members. Our aim is to provide an accurate and customer focused service to our members from joining the scheme to retirement and beyond.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a new Pension Officer who will be responsible for accurately maintaining member records, calculating pension benefits and providing first line support to all scheme members. Pension Officers also process and check a range of general pensions case work, including, but not restricted to, benefit estimates, deferring benefits, refunds and the combining of benefits, ensuring that service level targets and deadlines are met in respect of these areas. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential in this role.

We will provide full and comprehensive training to give you the skills and confidence you need to complete the role. In addition, the role offers an opportunity for self-development and has potential for career progression.

The job forms part of a career grading and the successful applicant will either be appointed to the grade 5 or grade 6 level role. Details of the differences between these roles can be found in the job description.

About you
