We are seeking a candidate to join our small team whose overall purpose is to provide day to day administration of the Gloucestershire Constabulary Vehicle Recovery Scheme and Abnormal Loads to ensure the scheme operates efficiently at all times in line with policy and legislation.
You will be the point of contact for Officers, recovery operators and members of the public in relation to vehicles which have been recovered for any reason by the Police.
You will also be the point of contact for Hauliers who submit movement orders to the Constabulary. A significant number of abnormal loads pass through the county of Gloucestershire and you will be responsible for checking each submission to ensure compliance and to identify as and when the Constabulary will need to provide specialist officers to escort these loads. In 2023, a total of 58,250 submissions were checked.
This is a busy role and priorities change constantly. You will need to demonstrate a working knowledge of relevant legislation.
The role advertised is for 21 hrs per week working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but you will be required to cover additional hours as and when required, mainly for leave/training or special events/operations.
