Administrator

Newent, Gloucestershire

1 Year Contract (subject to successful probation)
Potential to increase hours, subject to funding.
28 days Pro rata holiday allowance

Responsible for The Lending Locker (6 hours)

• All administrative duties in Launching the Lending Locker within 2 months of commencing the post.
• Keeping GDPR compliant records of all users
• Take payment of subscriptions and hire of equipment. Sign up users.
• Assess the condition of all lending items on loan and returns
• Advertise the project via Social Media, Leaflet and word of mouth
• Monitor the use of the project, customer feedback, and prepare reports for management committee.

Responsible for Shop Admin (6 hours)

• Admin duties including finance and invoices.
• HR duties to include managing timesheets and keeping staff records.
• To cover the till at busy times
• Record keeping of funding projects.
• Minute keeping for Management committee meetings.

Responsible to all three Directors of the Recycling Shop.

Working Hours Paid Working Hours are as follows:

• Monday 9.45-13.45
• Friday 9.45-13.45
• Saturday 9.45-14.00

This includes a 15-minute break which is unpaid. Overtime/cover is paid at your normal hourly rate.

Job Specification

The Recycling shop is soon to reach its 4th year. We began as a shop selling donated items to reduce landfill, we have grown significantly to include a community craft space, The Hive, a creator of Recycled Resources for Education, plus a free warm space Sip Happens, were anyone can come and sit and have a free hot drink, or cold and snuggle Onslow our adopted cat.

We are excited to further our community offer by recently securing funding from The Forest of Dean District Council, Greener Gloucestershire Funding and Gloucestershire County Council to form The Lending Locker. A place designed to further reduce Landfill and unnecessary purchases, by providing items to rent such as Carpet Washers or Tea Sets.

We are looking for a very special person to administrate and deliver this project, making an impact on our towns carbon footprint and the wider world too.

Essential

• Competent in Office Based Programmes
• Previous Administration Experience
• Open Communication Skills
• Experience of social media Platforms and advertising
• Good level of English and Maths
• Proof of Identity and right to live and work in the UK
• This is role is not flexible. You must be able to commit to these hours
• Passionate about community development and reducing landfill
• Good organisational skills

Desirable

• Experience of working within a community engagement role
• Drivers Licence
• HR qualification/experience
• Bookkeeping experience
