Part-Time Photography Assistant - DW Photography Assistant

South Cerney, Cirencester

Dominic Winter Auctioneers is one of the UK’s leading specialist auction houses, located just outside Cirencester. We’re known for our expertise in rare books, manuscripts, maps, prints, and photography, attracting buyers and collectors from around the world.

The Role:
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Photography Assistant to join our friendly team. You’ll support our in-house photographer in creating high-quality digital images for printed catalogues and online listings. This is a hands-on, trainee-style role—ideal for someone with a tech-savvy mindset, good digital skills, and an eye for detail. While some basic knowledge is expected, full training will be provided. There is potential for the role to grow over time, offering the opportunity to develop new skills and take on more responsibility.

Main Duties Include:

Assisting with photographing auction items using professional camera equipment

Renaming and organising image files accurately

Performing basic editing in Photoshop and Lightroom

Maintaining image records using spreadsheets

Handling image requests from staff and clients

Keeping the studio and equipment tidy and in good order


We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Has good IT skills and is confident handling digital image files

Is comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets for basic data entry and record-keeping

Understands the basics of using a DSLR or mirrorless camera (training provided)

Has experience with Photoshop or Lightroom—or has used other photographic editing software and is happy to be trained

Is highly organised, detail-focused, and good at following instructions

Works well independently and manages their time effectively

Salary: Based on experience (Starting at £13.85 per hour)

Hours Per Week: 25 Hours, Monday to Friday, 9:30 am – 2:30 pm (Minimum)
