Sports Coach and Cover Supervisor
Cheltenham
Permanent.
The post holder will be required to work some Saturday mornings, which are paid in addition to the above salary. The requirements regarding this will be discussed at interview.
At Pate’s, the PE curriculum allows all students to thrive through a challenging, supportive and varied learning journey.
Students are introduced to more activities and are given an increasing amount of choice as they progress through the school. In addition to the core PE and Games curriculum, we also offer GCSE and A Level PE.

In addition to our hotly-contested House Sport competitions, team practices occur at Lunchtime and after school. Students enjoy the chance to play in mid-week and Saturday fixtures against both state and independent schools.
We offer a wide range of recreational and competitive sport opportunities, with outcomes often placing us amongst the top schools in the country.
We are extremely proud of our provision which is staffed by a team of six specialist PE teachers, three Cover Supervisor Sports Coaches, external coaches and teachers from across school.
The Cover Supervisors within the team, along with our ad hoc Cover Supervisors, are an integral part of our school and a vital part of our Teaching and Learning provision, making a valuable contribution to the whole school community.
The Role.
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join our school in our thriving PE and Sport Department as a Sports Coach, and the wider school as a Cover Supervisor.
- You will be passionate and committed to inspiring our students in the variety of sports that we offer, as well as supporting them in other lessons throughout the school as a Cover Supervisor.
- Your experience of coaching a range of sports, energy, resilience and excellent communication skills will make you an ideal candidate for this role.
- You will teach and coach sports across the whole school, during lessons, some Lunchtimes, some after school and Saturday mornings.
- As a Cover Supervisor, you will support in the efficient running of the school, covering lessons where teaching staff are absent, utilising cover work set by the teacher, supporting students in the lesson, collecting in completed work and undertaking any relevant activities for the lesson.
