About the Role
- This role is the ideal opportunity for an early-career animal scientist seeking to develop their teaching practice in a hands-on, practical learning environment
- Involves the delivery of practical sessions across a range of animal science modules, with a focus on laboratory-based teaching related to animal health, disease, anatomy, physiology, and general biology
- The role will also involve being part of assessment teams and conducting assessments within those teams (e.g. oral assessments, marking portfolios etc.)
- Supporting the coordination and administration of practical elements of the curriculum, including practical classes and training sessions involving canines
- You will become a key member of the team as we continue to evolve our curriculum and pedagogical delivery
- The role requires a passion for educating, influencing and enabling the next generation of graduates to add value to the industry, nationally and globally
About You
- Willing to complete a teaching qualification within two years of appointment
- You will possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area, with a PhD being desirable, and we are particularly interested to hear from applicants with a background in animal/canine biology or general animal science
- Confident working around a range of animal species, in particular dogs
- Relevant industry (including laboratory) experience within the subject field would be an advantage
- Highly motivated with a commitment to the highest quality of teaching and learning
- Supporting higher education programme delivery, you will be enthusiastic and professional
- A candidate with excellent communication skills, experience and the ability to work professionally with industry contacts across subject areas

Salary: £19,227 - £20,392 per annum based on an FTE of £32,046 - £33,987 per annum
Hours Per Week: A minimum of 22.2 hours per week based on a 0.6FTE contract
