Apprentice General Builder and Carpenter
Cheltenham/Gloucester, Gloucestershire
We are looking for an Apprentice who will be trained up to become a general builder. Must be happy taking on labouring as well as carpentry to join our team to become a general builder and be trained up as a Carpenter too and achieve L2. You will join our busy team, learning all aspects of working in the built environment whilst studying towards a qualification.
Responsibilities include:
- General Building work (excludes bricklaying)
- Measuring and installing Studwork
- Installation of Roofing, Modification of roofing
- Installation of doors and windows
- All levels of carpentry
- General labouring duties on site
- You will be required to assist in other areas/trades of the build phase
- Other trade/site skills advantageous
Skills:
- No experience necessary but a background of carpentry, construction or labouring work would be an advantage.
Personal qualities:
- Enthusiasm
- Able to following instruction and
- Desire to learn building trade
- Punctual and good time keeping
Health:
- You must be healthy and fit with no medical problems
Qualifications:
- Three GCSE grades A-D or 9-3 in English, Mathematics and a Science/Technical-based subject.
A long term rewarding career in the built environment with the potential for progression on successful completion of the 2 year Apprenticeship.
Things to consider
Residential and Commercial property development sites in rural locations. Transport to and from site may not always be provided. Site operations make for long days and, with the exception of extreme conditions, continue regardless of season and weather. A uniform and protective clothing is provided.
Holiday entitlement: 28 days.
Apprentices must meet our minimum entry requirements.
NOTE: no drug or alcohol use on site
