Lecturer in A-Level Law and Criminology (MAT cover) - REQ001041

We are looking for someone who has expertise in delivering A-Level Law (AQA or OCR) but due to growth in learner numbers, could also contribute to other subjects including WJEC Criminology.
Role Information:
FTE Salary: up to £37,029.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term until 4th July 2025
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for someone who has expertise in delivering A-Level Law (AQA or OCR) but due to growth in learner numbers, could also contribute to other subjects including WJEC Criminology; the successful candidate will join a well-established team of professionals, many of whom have worked for the college for five years or more. Ideally, you should have several years’ experience of teaching Law at AS and A2 and experience of external examining is a significant benefit, as is being a Course Team Leader.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- To undertake all forms of pedagogic work which may include classroom teaching, tutorial work and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses and student placements.
- To ensure the associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking is undertaken.
- To undertake an annual teaching workload of contact hours for category ‘A’ duties of 828 maximum to 761 minimum (pro rata for part-time) as detailed in the College workload agreement.
- To conduct curriculum development work including identification of consumer requirements, planning, development and evaluation of courses and course materials.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantial relevant subject experience.
- PGCE or qualified teacher status
- Possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Working within a HE/FE environment
