Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised, motivated and experienced Head of Health, Safety, Fire & Security to join our Health, Safety, Fire & Security team. You will have all the necessary qualifications, knowledge and experience required to provide professional leadership and strategic direction to the Trust on all related health, safety, fire & security matters.
The Head of Health, Safety, Fire & Security leads a team of staff who are required to ensure compliance with the various statutory legislation, deliver training, carryout inspections and audits against the current health, safety and fire practices around the Trust and legislation that is in place. Ensuring a programme of audit is in place to provide assurance that organisational Health & Safety, fire and security policies are being followed.
They will have all the necessary qualifications, knowledge and experience required to provide professional leadership and strategic direction for the corporate health and safety, security, and fire for the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will provide strategic direction and leadership in the management of the Trust's statutory Health, Safety, Fire and Security duties to ensure a healthy environment for all employees, service users, contractors and general public.
- Produce and review annual action plans for Health, Safety, Fire Security that include clear, measurable objectives for improving health and safety performance in accordance with - audit outcomes
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure that all risks are managed and mitigated effectively
- Develop and deliver training programmes to ensure all staff are aware of health and safety policies and procedures
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrices, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Liaise with external bodies such as regulatory agencies and auditors to ensure compliance and best practices
- Promote a culture of safety within the Trust by leading by example and encouraging proactive safety behaviours
