South Gloucestershire CAMHS Social Care Primary Mental Health Specialist (PMHS)
1.0WTE - 37.5 hours per week.
We are looking for a motivated, qualified and registered professional who has experience of working with children and young people, preferably within a community CAMHS service and/or significant experience within adult mental health services.
South Gloucestershire Local Authority have funded Primary Mental Health Specialist (PMHS) roles to be embedded within their main social care teams. This role is based in theexploitation and central locality social care teamsbased at Badminton Road Council Offices/West Gate Centre in Yate. The role involves outreach work and travel across South Gloucestershire.

Main duties of the job
The Primary Mental Health Specialist role is embedded within the LA team and will provide consultation to social care staff about young people with emotional and mental health needs, providing advice and support to upskill professionals to identify mental health needs and appropriately intervene. Some of these young people/families will require assessment and interventions from the post holder and are likely to require an assertive outreach approach to aid engagement. Other young people may be supported into the locality CAMHS team (for example those with eating disorders). The post will also provide training to social care staff and other professional working with children and young people.
You will be welcomed into an established and experienced Primary Mental Health Specialist team within South Gloucestershire and Bristol (including PMHS working in Bristol locality social care teams). You will also access support, training and regular supervision from the South Gloucestershire locality CAMHS team.
