Job Details
Vital are working with a leading M&E contractor who are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
The company specialise in Mechanical and electrical installations for commercial and industrial projects, Service and maintenance and design & energy efficiency.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for: -
- leading the design and coordination of all HVAC systems and controls on projects.
- Producing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
- Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into the overall project design.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and environmental considerations.
- Managing and mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development.
- Conducting site inspections and liaising with our construction team to ensure successful implementation of projects.
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
- Providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participating in client meetings and presentations to communicate design solutions effectively.
- Heating, Ventilation & Cooling (HVAC)
- Public Health Systems
- Building Management Systems
- Building Energy Modelling and Part L Compliance
- Low Carbon Design
Qualifications
- HNC/HND Building Services Engineering as a minimum.
- CIBSE Membership/Chartered Status would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in designing HVAC systems for a wide range of building types.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good practical knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- AutoCAD Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills.
- Revit experience would be advantageous but not essential.
- Proficient in the use of design calculation software such as Heva comp, IES, TAS.
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 Annual +
Hours Per Week: Full Time
