Job description
At National Star we are proud of the training and career development opportunities available to all our colleagues.  Our own award winning CPD department are dedicated to fostering a supportive workplace culture that allows colleagues to perform at their best.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team as either a trainee or qualified Assessor, supporting our employees who are completing their accredited health and social care Diplomas and Apprenticeships.

This rewarding role will see you manage, assess and support a caseload of learners.   To be able to support your learners with an underpinning knowledge, you will need to have a level 2 and 3 Health and Social Care qualification and you will have been working in a care role for a minimum of a year.  If you are not already qualified as an Assessor, we will support you in your own career development to complete the relevant training and awards using your practical skills in the role as evidence of your learning.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a strong motivator who can not only work on your own initiative and organise yourself but can inspire our learners to reach their goals and targets within their deadlines. You may be able to demonstrate this skill from previous leadership or mentoring of staff in a care environment.

You should have excellent communication skills to be able to liaise with managers and staff at all levels whilst being sensitive and empathetic to the needs of the learners.

The post requires you to work across different sites assessing staff during their normal work shifts so access to your own transport will be essential.  Early, late and some weekend working is part of the role requirement
