Technical Donations Manager
Cheltenham
The ITSA Digital Trust (ITSA) is based in Leckhampton, Cheltenham. It is a UK-registered charity with a mission to transform lives by providing IT equipment and IT skills to people in Africa and the UK.
We collect used computer equipment, refurbish it and send it to Africa for use in schools in some of the poorest countries on the continent. We have collected over 130,000 computers and laptops and have helped more than six million children in Africa to gain access to IT. We also provide IT equipment and IT skills to charities and community organisations in the UK.
We have an opportunity for a committed sales professional to contact schools, businesses and other organisationsto request their used, working computer equipment. The successful candidate is likely to have experience of managing key accounts. Knowledge of IT hardware would be an advantage.
The main objectives of the role are to:
- Identify suitable businesses and schools and ask them by phone and email for computer donations, including cold calling.
- Maintain relationships with new equipment donors.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing equipment donors.
- Maintain detailed records of donations and leads in ITSA’s database.
- Ensure a cost-effective and efficient collection of IT equipment from donors.
- Provide support to other members of the team with any reasonable duties and responsibilities.
The skills and experience which we are seeking are:
- Excellent telephone manner and written English, with the ability to make cold calls, get through to the right contact, and make a confident and engaging pitch.
- Good IT skills to include Word, Excel and Email
- Knowledge of CRM database. Training will be provided.
- Previous experience of a similar ‘sales’ role
- Knowledge of computers and accompanying equipment
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with a one hour unpaid lunch break
Rate of Pay: Negotiable, depending upon experience
Place of work: ITSA Digital Trust (office based)
Holidays: 28 days per annum to include Bank and Public Holidays
