Engagement and Communications Officer
Stonehouse, Gloucestershire - 1 day per week home working available.
Length of Appointment: 12 months minimum fixed term, subject to funding.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week preferable, work pattern to be agreed (we will consider part time and full-time).
Line Manager: CEO
Use of your own vehicle and a clean driving licence is essential.

Sunflowers Suicide Support is a rapidly growing charity dedicated to providing essential support to individuals affected by suicide. Founded in memory of Pete Morris, Sunflowers aligns its work with local and national suicide prevention strategies and best practices. In addition to its core mission, Sunflowers conducts intervention and awareness training and hosts various campaigns throughout the year to prevent suicide

Overview
Sunflowers is seeking a dynamic and proactive Engagement and Communications Officer to join our rapidly growing charity. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Engagement and Communications Officer will play a crucial role in managing our internal and external communications and engagement, supporting the CEO and contributing to the smooth operation of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for key stakeholder communications for Sunflowers
1. Website Management:
Oversee and maintain the organisation's website and online platforms, ensuring content is up to date, engaging, and reflects our mission and values.
2. Social Media Management:
Manage and curate content for our social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Foster inclusive engagement with our diverse audience, respond thoughtfully to inquiries, and cultivate a sense of belonging and community online.
3. Document Preparation:
Support the creation, formatting, proofreading, and printing of relevant documents, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
4. Press Releases and Newsletters:
Develop and distribute press releases to relevant media outlets and stakeholders. Coordinate the creation and distribution of quarterly newsletters, ensuring representation and inclusivity of our service users, diverse supporters and stakeholders.
5. Stakeholder Communications:
Provide support to the CEO and Board of Trustees, including minuting meetings, sending agendas, and managing calendars, meetings, and attendance on training sessions.
6. External Networking:
Attend external networking events to represent Sunflowers engaging with stakeholders including the sunflowers community, supporters and funders both existing and potential.
7. General Support:
Assist with various administrative and fundraising tasks as needed, contributing to the efficient functioning of the office.
Person Profile and Experience
- Personable and engaging able to actively communicate with a range of stakeholders including service users, the sunflowers community, supporters and funders.
- Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to clear, compassionate and inclusive language.
- Experience of managing social media platforms through Meta.
- Experience of updating websites on Wix.
- Self-motivated with a proactive work ethic.
- Proficient IT skills with evidenced use of Microsoft 365.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.
- Willing to offer flexibility in working and availability to support Board meetings (generally monthly on a Tuesday evening).
