Sessional Youthworkers

Stroud

Do you have a passion for supporting young people to grow and reach their potential?  Do you want to be part of an amazing charity, recognised by the National Youth Agency for the quality of its work with young people and families?  With our inclusive team dedicated to providing positive role models, safe spaces and hope for a brighter future, The Door could be the place for you.

A Christian youth charity based in Gloucestershire, The Door was established in 1991 for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25 and their families. It’s a place where every young person and their parents can feel safe, happy and valued, with the best possible opportunity to reach their potential.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated individuals to join our award-winning youthwork team. In this role you will assist our Community Youthworkers in running both indoor and detached (street-based) youthwork sessions in the Stroud area.

Experience of working with young people in a youthwork setting and an awareness of the issues facing young people today would be helpful. However, we are keen to hear from applicants of all backgrounds and experience levels who are simply passionate about being an outstanding role model and are eager to support young people.

Full training is provided, as is ongoing support and commitment to your personal growth and development in the role. You will need to be available for approximately three late afternoons and/or evening sessions per week, including both school term times and holiday periods (more work may be available). You will need to have your own transport to enable you to work across multiple youth club
locations, particularly in the Stroud and Dursley areas, and potentially in the South Cotswolds. Travel expenses are paid when working away from your usual centre.

Following receipt of your application, you may be invited for an interview and youth club taster session, in which case your references will be taken up.
Closing Date: Monday 2nd September 23:59
