Chef (in a Residential Home) Guild House
Gloucester
About the role
We have 19-22 hours per week position available for a Chef to work in our beautifully kept residential home. The shifts times are 7.30am to 2.30pm and 1pm to 7pm. Final details discussed with applicant.

Our friendly Catering Department provides delicious and nutritious food and fluids to residents with varying dietary needs. Food and drink is a vital part of life and we support residents to have the best.
Main Responsibilities
- You will ensure a quality food service is provided, and share responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Prepare and cook meals with a creative flair and passion for fresh produce.
- Providing meals in appropriate quantities, taking into account the diets to meet medical and personal needs and preferences.
- Ensure the highest service standards are achieved.
- Making meals which are nutritionally balanced and attractively presented in a timely manner.
- Ensure the cleaning duties, as laid out in the cleaning schedules, are followed.
- Managing the kitchen supplies and as well as checking and maintaining kitchen equipment as directed.
- Allocate duties and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Manager.
Personal Specification
- Have experience of working as a Chef/Cook.
- Be willing to learn how to support residents’ nutrition and hydration needs if you do not already have experience in this.
- Have a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, be working towards one, or would be willing to complete one whilst working for the Trust
- Be conscientious, flexible and dependable.
- Able to interact with a cheerful demeanour.
- Able to work within a team.
- Take pride in what you do particularly when working with the residents’ own preferences, thereby promoting choice, dignity and respect.
