Chef

Yorkley, Parkend, Gloucestershire

We are looking for a fast paced chef to join our team, someone who has a sense of humour but also realises we have a job to do. We are a large pub and can get very busy so we need someone who will be able to handle the pressure and work well with the rest of the team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the kitchen staff and delegate tasks accordingly
• Help create and maintain a menu that meets customers' expectations and dietary requirements
• Ensure that the kitchen is always clean and adheres to health and safety standards
• Order and manage inventory of food
• Monitor and manage food costs and waste
• Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high quality and consistency in food preparation
• Collaborate with the front of house team to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction

Requirements:

• Experience working as a chef in a pub or similar environment
• Ability to create and execute menus that cater to a range of tastes and dietary requirements
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures in the kitchen
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
• Ability to manage inventory and control costs while maintaining high-quality food standards
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Passion for food and keeping up-to-date with industry trends and techniques
• Willingness to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
