Early Years Manager

Position Available: Early Years Manager at Earlybirds Playgroup
This position offers a minimum of 21 hours per week, with the opportunity for regular overtime based on the setting's needs.
About Us:
Earlybirds Playgroup is a long-standing committee-led charity dedicated to implementing the Curiosity approach. With over 20 years of successful operation, we are situated in Cinderford, at the heart of the Forest of Dean, providing exceptional care for children aged 2-4 years. Our ethos revolves around prioritising the needs and interests of children, ensuring a child-focused environment.
Role Overview:
Due to the growth of the playgroup, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Early Years Manager to join our vibrant team. As a co-manager, you will collaborate closely with our current operations manager to lead and inspire our team, envisioning an exciting future for our playgroup. The successful candidate will be required to contribute actively to the ongoing development and implementation of a dynamic and stimulating curriculum, fostering the growth and development of young minds.
We are looking for a candidate who will be imaginative, creative, and fun. For example, not afraid to dress up, be covered in paint or gloop, can blast into a nursery rhyme at any given opportunity, and most importantly will have fun as well as have the following important attributes:
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the current operations manager.
- Act as the nominated person for Ofsted, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards.
- Play an active role in developing and implementing an engaging and dynamic curriculum
- Provide imaginative and creative leadership, creating a fun and engaging environment for children.
- Possess essential qualifications and experience in the Early Years sector.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years, with at least 2 years of experience.
- Confidence in regulatory compliance, including familiarity with Ofsted requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a management position within the Early Years sector.
- Recent, relevant First Aid, Safeguarding, Safer Recruitment, and Food Hygiene training.
- Experience working alongside a committee in a committee-run setting.
