Early Years Practitioner (Part-Time, 18 hours per week)

Hucclecote, Gloucester

Position: Early Years Practitioner
Hours: 18 hours per week (with potential for increased hours) to 24 hours per week
Location: Abbeymead Under 5’s
Room: Rising 3's Room (2-3 years old)
Starting date: September 2024

About Us:

Abbeymead Under 5’s is a small and nurturing playgroup committed to providing a stimulating and supportive environment for young children aged 2-4 years old. We believe in the importance of early childhood education and are dedicated to fostering a love for learning in our little ones.

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team in the Rising 3's Room. This part-time position entails 15 hours per week, with the possibility of increased hours in the future. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to support the development of children aged 2-3 years old.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive community within the playgroup.
• Observe and assess children's development, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to parents.
• Collaborate with the team to contribute to the overall planning and organization of the playgroup.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with children aged 2-3 years old.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
• A  knowledge of SEN in an Early Years Setting
