Debunking myths about care assistant roles

At Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury we believe that the role of a care assistant is an extremely important one. There are a lot of myths about what type of person a care assistant must be or what they must be able to do, so we thought we would set the record straight with some facts:

ü You won’t have to work full-time, evenings or weekends. Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury is happy to provide part-time hours to help you with any existing care responsibilities.

ü Care assistants can be any age over 18.

ü Care assistants don’t need to be strong or fit. Our care assistants do not have to lift clients as the majority are able to walk around and are not bed bound.

ü Care assistants do not have to be medically trained or have medical qualifications. You will be given relevant training once you start your care assistant role.

We at Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury pride ourselves on the service we provide to clients who need care but want to remain in their home.

The care we provide can just be helping the client with day-to-day domestic activities, such as meal preparation, defrosting the freezer, watering the plants or simply someone to talk to.
