Employment Opportunity - Property Maintenance Manager
Stroud
Miserden Estate has an exciting new opportunity for a skilled tradesperson to join and lead the
property maintenance team on the Estate.
Title: Property Maintenance Manager
Contract type: Permanent
The Role
Miserden Estate is looking for a qualified and experienced tradesperson to lead an established
property maintenance team to deliver proactive repair and renovations works across the Estate’s
property portfolio.
The Estate includes an extensive portfolio of residential, commercial, agricultural and heritage
buildings that are maintained to a high standard. Miserden Estate also includes forestry, agriculture,
gardens and visitor enterprises, all of which closely interact with the property maintenance team. The
Estate operates with a ‘one-team’ ethos.
The key responsibilities and duties of this role include:
- Managing and undertaking the delivery of property maintenance tasks for both routine maintenance and longer-term property works
- Trades work and completing maintenance tasks on a day-to-day basis alongside the management activities
- Liaising with the Estate Manager over projects
- Estimating projects and maintenance jobs
- Managing larger renovation and development projects
- Managing a team of contractors and the in-house property maintenance team
- Preparing and monitoring annual property maintenance budgets alongside the Estate Manager
- Responding to issues or problems on the Estate
- Maintenance and operation of the Estate’s Biomass District Heating Scheme
- Maintenance of the Estate’s private water supply
- Ensuring Health & Safety compliance of the properties and maintenance operations
Job Requirements
- Extensive carpentry experience alongside the skills to apply to a range of property maintenance tasks
- Experience in all aspects of property maintenance, in particular properties of a traditional construction
- Whilst not essential, it would be preferable if the candidate had experience with heritage properties or listed buildings
- Good communication skills and a friendly approachable manner
- Good IT literacy with experience in using Microsoft excel or other budgeting software
- A full driving licence

Accommodation can be made available with the role but is not compulsory. The salary would reflect
any benefit provided from accommodation.
The property maintenance team will share an on-call function and will need to be flexible in their
working hours to respond to urgent property matters.
All candidates would need to demonstrate that they can work flexibly as part of a small team but also
have the initiative to work alone when required.
