Exam Invigilator - 10772

Gloucester

This is a Gloucestershire County Council job.

About the Role

Gloucestershire Hospital Education Service (GHES) is looking for a team of exam invigilators, to join our permanent staff, to support Year 11 students during the May/June exam season.

The exams take place over a 5-week period (the middle week is a break for half term) starting Monday 12th May until Friday 13th June.  This year most of the core exams that our students sit are in the morning.

We have a small site where some of our students come in to sit the exams, and this is where anyone we recruit would work - there is no expectation of invigilating in student homes.  On site you would always be supported by some of our permanent staff and our Exams Officer.  Experience is not required as training will be provided. Applicants will be asked to declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them.

GHES is a small alternative provision school that provides education for children and young people who are too unwell to attend their main school.  We have a number of Year 11 students who won't be physically or mentally well enough to attend their main school, and so GHES provides a smaller alternative location for them to sit their exams.  Our available classrooms and office space is quite small, which is what our students need, so around 4-5 students in each room.  Providing every student, we have the opportunity to sit their exams in a safe comfortable space is crucial to them being able to access them.  This year we have more students on our roll, and so we need to expand our exam invigilation team to enable us to facilitate their exams.
