Pastoral Intervention Mentor

Gloucester

Contract:  Permanent

The Trustees of Ribston Hall High School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Pastoral Intervention Mentor.  This highly rewarding role focuses on offering guidance though 1:1 and Group interventions, to promote a positive and inclusive environment.

As a bridge between students, teachers and other support services, you will support our young people in addressing their emotional, psychological and social needs, helping them to overcome personal barriers to academic success and promoting overall mental health and wellbeing.

With a compassionate, patient and understanding approach, together with knowledge of developmental psychology and age-appropriate intervention techniques, you will be empathetic, demonstrate excellent active listening skills and problem-solving abilities. 

You will be a strong communicator and have the ability to build rapport with students, parents and staff.  Educated to A-level standard or equivalent, with experience of working with children or in an adolescent support role, experience of working in a school setting is also advantageous. 

The salary offered is based on National Joint Council for Government workers scale, with access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Salary: Grade: NJC SCP 11-15, £27,269 - £29,093 per annum (£15,813 - £16,870 pro rata)

Hours Per Week: 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum (Term-time and INSET)
