We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Partner. This is an exciting opportunity to join Robinswood Primary School at the foot of Robinswood Hill in Matson, Gloucester. Our school classes comprise around 400 pupils across 14 classes and preschool.

The Higher Level Teaching Partner will work alongside the Class Teachers and Teaching Partners to support the learning of children with high needs/SEND. Your role will be overseen by the SENDCo and will involve helping to plan and deliver the provision to closely match the needs identified on the individual pupil’s EHCP or MyPlan+ documentation. This role is 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days), and is temporary to cover maternity leave.

Main responsibilities:
- Supervise the activities of the individual or groups of children to ensure their safety and facilitate their development
- Undertake those activities necessary to meet the physical and emotional needs of groups of children
- Be aware of individual pupil’s needs and progress and report these to the SENDCo
- Deliver learning activities
- Follow and implement school policies and procedures

You will need:
- An HLTA qualification
- Experience of working with children in a school setting, within a classroom as a Higher Level Teaching Partner/Assistant
- Experience of working with children with special educational needs
- To be familiar with a range of strategies that support children’s learning
- To be familiar with child development, especially their emotional development and the processes by which children learn and acquire social skills
