We are looking for an Attendance Officer at Holmleigh Park High School, an ambitious academy located in Tuffley, Gloucester. Job Description
Job Purpose:
- To support the Lead Attendance Officer and to monitor and track student attendance, ensuring that registers are completed correctly.
- To support the Lead Attendance Officer in implementing attendance interventions/strategies to improve students' attendance at HP.
Key Duties
- First contact for parents/carers when students are absent.
- Record any messages received from parents/carers regarding attendance on the registers.
- Cover the Student Reception window from 8.30am to 9.30am, as required, recording any late students and updating the registers.
- Update registers from daily Line Up when required.
- Record any Preps set from Line Up or late arrivals.
- Inform Lead Attendance Officer and Heads of Year of any issues regarding daily attendance.
- Contact parents/carers if students are absent and no contact has been made.
- Check registers have been completed by teachers daily, chasing any missing registers.
- Produce Fire Registers daily after attendance has been recorded.
- Report part time timetables to the LEA when required.
- Track attendance data and use data to inform attendance interventions.
- Contact targeted students using absence data.
- Conduct attendance-focused home visits.
- Meet with parents and implement attendance action plans.
- Record requests for student holidays during term time, monitor unauthorised absences and support the Lead Attendance Officer in the preparation of fixed penalty notices
- Advise and implement the school’s Attendance Policy
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of local and national attendance-related guidance
- During fire drills – ensure all students are accounted for
