Job Description Salary: Up to £48,000 depending on experience Location: New Mills, GL12 8JR (Global HQ) Renishaw is leader in delivering high accuracy metrology solutions to industrial, medical, and scientific processes around the world. As part of the Group Manufacturing Services Division (GMSD), the Procurement Department is regularly presented with new and exciting requirements. An opportunity has arisen to join us as a Senior Buyer supporting corporate demand for indirect goods and services required to run a large multi-site R&D/manufacturing/commercial organisation. We are looking for a commercially savvy, enthusiastic, and driven individual to deliver a diverse portfolio of categories on time, to the highest quality and the best value. The candidate will be part of a team primarily based at Head Office in our Wotton-under-Edge site in Gloucestershire (GL12 8JR), with opportunities to be involved with a wide range of products, commodities, and suppliers from around the world. The successful candidate will have options for hybrid working, where you will be required to come into Head Office at our Wotton-under-Edge site in Gloucestershire but also can work from home as agreed. We also have a variable working pattern in place, where you can work a 4.5-day week and have a half day on a Friday. Responsibilities Collaborating with the wider Procurement Group to develop efficient purchasing techniques & encourage best practice Effective management and control of supplier and stakeholder relationships both internally and externally Commercially focused negotiation with suppliers to ensure cost management targets are realised Responsible for the creation, implementation and management of Supplier Contracts Delivering cost reduction opportunities whilst negotiating terms and conditions to achieve best price and quality Identifying risks and providing support to implement solutions to manage/mitigate them Delivering key projects as part of a cross-functional team, representing the commercial needs of the business Role requirements Experience of managing, driving, and developing supplier and stakeholder relationships Able to demonstrate a successful track record in negotiation with suppliers to meet organisational targets Experience of purchasing across a variety of categories, including but not limited to Capital equipment, hardware/software, maintenance & support services Understanding of the various approaches and strategies to commodity purchasing, working in line with functional requirements to meet departmental objectives and KPIs Able to demonstrate a high standard of ethics and integrity within a challenging environment Able to demonstrate proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office etc.) CIPS qualification or relevant STEM/Business Degree would be advantageous, but not essential Enthusiastic, self-driven, determined, persuasive and thorough in approach and capable of working independently and in a team environment Person Specification As the successful applicant for this position, you'll be a cultural and strategic thinker, who’s resolute in owning, identifying, reporting, and creatively resolving gaps in supply.
