Junior Estimator
Gloucester
REPORTS TO: Sales Co-ordinator
PURPOSE: Prepare quotations in response to a wide range of enquires from both the UK and overseas.
Gantrail is recognised as one of the world leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of crane rail systems for a wide range of heavy engineering projects worldwide. The company is leading the way in terms of innovation within this niche industry.
Working under the Sales Co-ordinator the successful candidate will become part of the dedicated Sales Team where they will enjoy a varied role, supporting the internal sales team by providing quotations and information to a worldwide network of agents and distributors, as well as direct customers.
The company offers flexible working in terms of start/finish times and working from home for up to 40% of hours per month.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in managing inbound enquiries from distributors and direct customers.
- Complete quotations.
- Liaise with production, operations, accounts regarding lead times and payment terms.
- Liaise with rail mills and suppliers for pricing on non-proprietary items.
- Respond to requests from distributors for information re lead times and order status.
- Forge and maintain longstanding relationships with customers.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- Organised and methodical in a busy Sales environment.
- The ability to think on your feet.
- Computer literate, sound capabilities in Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel and Word.
- Polite and professional customer focussed communication skills.
- Motivated and passionate in delivery of your work.
- Ability to work accurately in a high-pressure environment to specified deadlines.
- Accept responsibilities and manage multiple tasks.
- Reliable and enthusiastic.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Mathematical confidence
- Experience in a commercial environment.
- Experience working with a CRM system.
- Use of Microsoft Teams for managing workload and day-to-day communication with members of the internal Sales team.
- Understanding the importance of Quality Assurance.
- A commercial awareness.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
We believe candidates can come from a wide range of backgrounds, but we would expect you to have:
- Experience of working in a commercial/construction/engineering environment.
- Educated to GCSE level including Maths & English.
