Are you passionate about animal welfare and experienced in farm management? A charming working farm on the edge of North Bristol, is looking for a dedicated Farm Manager to lead our team.
About Us
We are a free-to-access, family-friendly farm showcasing a variety of animals from Dexter cattle and Shetland ponies to goats, pigs, and poultry. We welcome the public year-round and strive to create a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.
As the Farm Manager, you will:
- Oversee the daily care, welfare, and health of all animals, including feeding, cleaning, vaccinations, and medical treatments.
- Manage breeding livestock, assisting with calving, farrowing, and kidding, and coordinating with our veterinary team.
- Lead and supervise a small team of staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and policies.
- Maintain accurate records for legal compliance and best practices.
- Manage visitor access, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.
- Oversee basic maintenance of farm facilities and animal enclosures.
- Experience in livestock management and animal care.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of agricultural legislation and animal welfare standards.
- Practical experience with breeding and veterinary care.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional out-of-hours care.
8:30 am 5:30 pm, with breaks.
Every other weekend, with Fridays off in lieu.
Flexibility required during breeding periods or emergencies.
