Assistant Contracts Manager - 11361

About the Role

The Council's Highways Commercial Team has a vacancy for an Assistant Contracts Manager to oversee the day-to-day contractual requirements of the Highways and Transport revenue and capital programmes. Reporting directly to Senior Management (the Highways Commercial Manager), the successful candidate will play a leading role in the contractual and financial compliance of our projects and programmes across a range of areas including Term Maintenance, Structural Maintenance, Street Lighting and a range of capital projects. The post holder will be accountable to Senior Management and will be required to provide financial and contract governance across the range of highways contracts and projects. Duties will range from collation and production of highways key performance indicators, contract dispute resolution, contractual advice, provision of financial information to members of the senior management teams.  

 

About The Team
The Council's Highways Commercial Team supports the operation of the Term Maintenance, Professional Services, Structural Maintenance and Street Lighting contracts. We are also involved in supporting Major Projects and play a key part in systems development and continuous improvement of our Assets and Customer Management Systems and our Forecasting models.

About You

We are looking for an experienced individual who is solution-focused, commercially aware, with strong organisational, numeracy and communications skills, and the ability to prioritise workloads/reporting in a fast-paced environment. You must have a keen eye for detail and have experience of working with contractors and project managers within a NEC 3/4 contract environment.
