This post provides an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious Teacher of Chemistry seeking to develop their career into leadership.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Chemistry Teacher to join the Science Team at St Katherine’s and lead the chemistry curriculum.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher, with the ability to teach Chemistry at all Key Stages (including A level), passionate about chemistry and driven to ensure that students receive the best possible experience of the subject by bringing creative ideas to the classroom.
The Science Faculty at St Katherine’s is a supportive and dedicated team, committed to developing their pedagogy and sharing the very best practice across the team. The science labs are situated together and the department is well supported with two full time technicians. Science is a popular subject at St Katherine’s and over half of our students choose to study triple science at GCSE. The Science team seeks to deliver lessons which challenge all students by using a full variety of teaching and learning strategies. The student lies at the heart of the assessment process and we use a wide range of formative, evaluative and summative approaches to support them in their learning. We would welcome a colleague with a passion for science teaching who loves to see scientists of all abilities enjoying their science, learning actively and making rapid progress. We provide many enrichment opportunities based around our STEM agenda to inspire and motivate scientists and engineers for the future.
