Job summary

Are you an experienced orthopaedic nurse with proven leadership skills, a passion for development and a commitment to providing a high standard of patient care and experience?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join the team on one of our Trauma Wards at Gloucester Hospital. The area predominantly caters for patients admitted with a fractured neck of femur surgery and other trauma patients

You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated multidisciplinary team that includes Health Care Assistants, Nurses and therapy staff who pride ourselves in our diversity, team work and attention to detail to providing excellent care for our patients

Main duties of the job

Lead the Nursing team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe person centred Nursing care.

Manage the ward and admission area on a regular basis including managing the flow of patients through the wards.

To support the manager in recruitment, retention and performance of staff and students.

To support the manager with budget control, including safe allocation of staff and sickness management.

Adhere to trust policies, procedures and professional code of conduct.
