This 12 hour permanent teaching position within the Critical Care Services will suit an individual who is passionate about delivering expert clinical skills, and sharing their expert knowledge in a challenging and rewarding specialism where teaching is at the centre of patient care and staff development.

The Department of Critical Care is very proud to have achieved a Gold ACE accreditation in 2024. We aim to maintain this status by continuing to develop motivated and enthusiastic staff who will work alongside us to deliver expert care to critically ill patients and their families.

The proposed interview date is 22nd May

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a highly skilled, knowledgeable and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team as a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE). The successful applicant will assist the Band 7 CNE, to lead the training and professional development of nursing staff, of all grades, within the cross county critical care service and wider Trust as appropriate, the details of which are outlined within the Job Description.

We are looking for an individual who possess excellent communication and leadership skills with evidence of working creatively and with a clear determination to deliver safe, effective and high-quality patient care that is underpinned with kindness and compassion. Having the ability to role model a positive attitude towards service delivery and progression is key to this position.

There is the expectation that the post holder will work collaboratively with personnel from other departments and organisations to continuously raise the standard and provision of critical care nurse training and education to include other units within the SW network and local universities.

This post offers an interesting and varied senior nursing role within an 'Outstanding Team' where the successful applicants will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of critical care nurse education and development within Gloucestershire Hospitals and beyond.
