Description 

The Wellbeing Co-ordinator is responsible for the implementation and coordination of the proactive wellbeing services with particular focus on improving personal resilience, trauma impact prevention and mental health.

The role will look to develop further interventions and tools to support the implementation of a single point of access (SPA) and triage model for a comprehensive health and wellbeing service across the Force, and new initiatives are likely to emerge over time.

The primary purpose is to coordinate these programmes, including their development, administration, promotion and quality assurance. The role holder will be an initial point of contact for triage to appropriate services and be responsible for the coordination and training of volunteers. The role will work closely with our Wellbeing Advisor offering in the moment support and signposting. As such a broad understanding of common causes of mental ill health in blue light services and a supportive and approachable manner are beneficial.

General duties include:

Work with the Wellbeing Advisor to ensure a harmonised approach which supports a single point of access and triage model.
Generate and manage partnership working across the force and external partner agencies in relation to wellbeing services.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering a high standard of service with an emphasis on quality at all times.
Promote and comply with our obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and Force policy on health and safety both in the delivery for service and the treatment of others.
Work with partners including the National Police Wellbeing Service, Police Care UK and internal departments including L&D to embed psychoeducational programmes which build resilience and reduce the impact of work related stress and trauma. This includes coordination of training and workshop facilitation.
Review the effectiveness of the intervention and embed so that the benefits can be replicated and sustained.
Proactively seek out best practice solutions to building resilience in individuals and teams to protect against psychological harms.
Performs such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility, as directed by the Head of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

Peer Support Programme Coordination

Mobilise and develop a network of trained Peer Supporters, utilising the National Police Wellbeing framework tools and resources
Develop enhanced programmes of peer support for at risk groups including but not limited individuals involved in conduct, complaints or grievance matters
Identify individuals suitable for peer support, working with a range of stakeholders including PSD, HR, Occupational Health, Wellbeing, and managers
Coordinate the allocation and deployment of peer supporters and welfare support officers, maintaining accurate records of contact and ongoing supervision
Be responsible for the training, CPD, and network support for Peer Supporters
Monitor the engagement and evaluate the impact of the Peer Support programme

TRiM (Trauma Risk Management) Coordination

Review all Storm logs and monitor all e-mails to triage incidents and appropriately identify individuals for TRiM.
Develop mechanisms for identifying frequent or multiple exposure to traumatic incident and enhance support pathways.
Monitor and coordinate the signposting and escalation of TRiM cases as appropriate following assessment, liaising with Occupational Health and Wellbeing colleagues as required.
Liaise with key and senior stakeholders to coordinate enhanced response to significant or out of ordinary events. This includes attendance at Gold Welfare meetings and coordination of post incident briefings.
Regularly deal with highly sensitive and upsetting information relating to Traumatic events.
To ensure accurate recording and storage of all records relating to TRiM both by self and TRiM Advanced Practitioners/Practitioners.
Arrange and facilitate all TRiM Training and CPD events to ensure appropriate training levels are maintained and practitioners are deployable at all times.
Regularly monitor and evaluate the activities of the Practitioners and provide support and guidance.
To embed and promote TRiM across all levels of the organisation both operationally and culturally giving talks and presentations and developing promotional materials.
