Job description
We are looking for a Private Sector Housing Officer who has the skills and qualities to build on the work the Council is undertaking to bring long term empty properties back into use, ensure compliance with MEES regulations and in developing our work with landlords and tenants to ensure improvements to the private rented sector. You will be working with a Principal Environmental Health Officer in the busy Private Sector Housing Team.
Ideally you will have:
- Experience of Local Government Housing Practices and Policies with particular regard to the private rented sector.
- the ability to communicate effectively across a range of media and audiences
- An understanding of practices to bring empty property back into use
- An understanding of the MEES regulations
- Knowledge and experience of how to remediate damp and mould problems
For a candidate able to demonstrate the right skills and qualities some training will be given.
