About the Role:
Hartpury University is looking for an experienced and dynamic Psychology academic to lead the development and delivery of Psychology provision. The role will be permanent, with the opportunity for negotiation on full-time or fractional appointment and the level of the role depending upon the successful candidate's experience and personal circumstances.
You will:
- Lead on the development, validation and delivery of our new psychology provision (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) for a 2026 launch. This would include working with professional bodies to support appropriate accreditation.
- Contribute to teaching and learning together with research and knowledge exchange activities and have the opportunity to support the success and future growth of the psychology provision (once the provision has been validated and launched).
- Aspire to ensure the continuous improvement of the student experience, teaching and learning excellence, and have a relationship with the relevant professional bodies to support curriculum endorsement and accreditation (BPS and BASES)
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge and/or experience within the discipline of sport and exercise psychology or psychology
- Contribute to RKE activities and income generation to support institutional output and impact plans and ensure the development of a research-informed curriculum
About You:
- You will have experience of curriculum development and validating professional body accredited awards
- You will have a relevant level 8 qualification and will ideally be HCPC registered as a psychologist or working towards this (Stage 2)
- You will have professional recognition such as FHEA/SFHEA or equivalent or a commitment to achieve the relevant status within one year of employment
- As an active researcher you will have experience of conducting applied research projects that lead to impactful outputs. A record of active scholarship and knowledge exchange is essential
- You will be committed to creating a high-quality student experience, evidenced through a focus on excellence within teaching and learning
- You will also have a clear appreciation of the connectivity between theory and practice and the ability to foster industry partnerships to develop industry opportunities for our students
- You will be able to work independently but also have experience of leading others through successful work-stream projects
